Magpie is the brainchild of designer Nicky Sloan and was created in 2011 to cater to a gap Nicky had spotted in the homewares market. Since its launch, Magpie has grown steadily, both in the design ranges it offers and the customers stocking it. Available from over 1000 stores throughout the UK including esteemed High street names such as Oliva Bonas, Selfridges, Harrods, Lakeland, House of Fraser along with hundreds of independent shops, and boasting over 500 unique products, Magpie has built a solid foundation to date and has ambitious plans for the future.

Based in London, Magpie has focussed on ranges with a distinctly British edge, nostalgically evoking childhood trips to the seaside, tea time with the grandparents, camping trips to the woods and an unwavering love for the flora and fauna found within the British Isles. Collaborating with numerous artists, both upcoming and established, Magpie, like its feathered namesake, is an inveterate gatherer and hoarder who is fast becoming a familiar part of the retail landscape.

 

OUR CODE OF ETHICS:
Our love of nature extends to our methods of manufacture. Everything we make is suitable for Vegans, our products are all cruelty free without compromising on their design. So our ceramics are all made from Porcelain which uses a mixture of 3 clays, kaolin, quartz, and feldspar.
We do not use Bone China which is made from 50% animal bone, burnt and then ground up and mixed with the clay. All our bags and purses are made from animal friendly cotton, pleather and polypropylene. All our cards and notebooks are made from 100% recycled paper.

CHARITY:
Our charity of choice is Cats Protection, we give 15% of our sales to help fund their work, our donations fed over 140000 cats last year.
